N&J Gaskets (QLD) has a diverse range of clients Australia-wide and works with them to find cost effective and accurate solutions for their industrial cutting needs.
After the 2011 Brisbane flood event, Swedish imported Backflow Valves were used along the Brisbane River for backflow prevention in future flood events. Now widely used in Australia by local authorities for backflow prevention in drains, providing flood and odor protection, and preventing infiltration of the pipeline by insects, small animals, flotsam and gases. The challenge was to design a customised sleeve to allow the slightly smaller European valve to be fitted to Australian waterway piping systems.
The Solution from N&J Gaskets (QLD)
Chutex Rubber – a highly elastic, highly durable grade of premium rubber with a 40 durometer hardness. This long-lasting rubber is renowned for offering excellent resistance to tearing, abrasion and cutting which has led to its widespread adoption for lining, wear protection, curtaining and skirting applications. Using one of our in-house digital flatbed cutting machines, N&J Gaskets can manufacture a customised Chutex Rubber sleeve for each valve to suit a specific application. Working from a supplied finished size, the rubber thickness is selected, cut and fitted to each valve before shipping back to the client.
